In the early 1980s, Wharfedale created modern "budget" hi-fi speakers, but four decades later, Wharfedale once again presented the reasonably priced, high-performance loudspeaker concept with a completely new range - the D300 series.
The series consists of four models: two compact floorstanding speakers - the D310 and the slightly larger D320 - and a floorstanding speaker with the designation D330. Add to that a center channel speaker for home theater systems, the D300C.
While the D300 models are not equipped with the curved housing walls of the Diamond 11 speakers, their stylishly designed housings incorporate many similar technologies redesigned and developed for this new series. Particularly noteworthy are the chassis and the bass reflex system.
" In a bold move by Wharfedale, these new 'not-Diamonds' undercut the brand's existing budget range, feature a strikingly different aesthetic, with revised drive units and construction to maximise performance. It all pays off in a compact, affordable and smart-looking floorstander that offers surprising levels of performance for the money, It's just the thing to make the most of budget-conscious systems."
